Post Adoption Services:

BSSK also shortly proposes to start 'Post Adoption Workshops' for adoptive families. Parenting can be enjoyable and also very challenging. The desire 'To be' a parent and 'To become' a parent are two similar - yet very different dimensions of parenting.

BSSK organizes every year Janmashtami programme (in or around August) and a Masti Mela on Children's Day (November 14). This is open to adoptive parents and their children to visit BSSK.

A Newsletter / Anubandh is published from time to time which has articles on BSSK's various programmes, events, happenings and contribution from adoptees, family, volunteers etc.

The Purpose of this project was to provide research-based information about the experiences of Indian families who adopted Indian Children as part of program evaluation of BSSK. The project was designed primarily as a program evaluation. There are two major types of program evaluation. The first type focuses on program process (process or system evaluation). The second type focuses on program outcomes (outcome evaluation). The evaluation was organized around the following questions:

  1. What problems /issues are families facing related to the adoption/child?
  2. What post adoption resources have they found/ would like to find?
  3. How could BSSK's adoption program be improved?
  4. What are the indicators of success in adoptive placements?
